This picture was taken by photographer Harold Edgerton. He was the first to use stroboscopic lighting to capture fast movement. The stroboscope can illuminate a subject with repeated and rapid bursts of light.

Simon Norfolk, known for his photographs of ruined landscapes and buildings, has taken this picture of a balloon seller in front of what was once a teahouse. His photographs often featured rich sunlight, sometimes including mountain ranges. His pictures are reminiscent of romantic history painters of the 18th and 19th centuries. The low viewpoint of the photograph emphasizes the outline of the building. The only bright colors being the balloons make them a focus of attention.
