Photographer Research

Irving Penn was one of the 20th century's renowned photographers, known for his astounding images and masterful printmaking. He was born on June 16, 1917 in Plainfield, New Jersey. He attended the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Arts where he studied drawing, painting, graphics, and industrial arts. In 1941 Irving visited Mexico to paint, unsatisfied with his work he destroyed it. Irving's debut photographic cover for Vogue appeared in October 1943. Widely know for his fashion photography, Irving also focused on portrait, ethnographic, still life and travel photographs. He was one of the earliest photographers to pose subjects against a grey or white backdrop. We cannot deny he was an important figure in photographic history, his mixture of art and photo became an honourable precedent.



 

Steve McCurry is alive. He is a photographer, freelancer and photojournalist. He was in a scandal for highly editing his pictures.
